Xiaomi's new video generation framework, WorldCast, brings cinematic 3D camera movements to AI video generation. It can orbit around a subject, push in and pull back, or tilt at different angles, while maintaining consistency in the subject's facial features, hairstyle, and clothing. How does it work? WorldCast uses estimated depth to back-project the initial frame into a 3D point cloud. It then aligns the point cloud with the target camera trajectory and renders it to provide geometric guidance for video generation. Xiaomi also introduces Geometry-Aligned Memory Attention (GAMA), which aligns multi-view character references with the target camera viewpoint and retrieves view-relevant features to help preserve character identity as the camera moves. The results are impressive. On the CLACT benchmark, covering 42 evaluation scenes and 6 camera trajectory types, WorldCast ranked first across all camera-control and character-consistency metrics, outperforming 13 competing methods. CLACT contains 80K synthetic training samples, 99 characters, and 42 evaluation scenes. Inference code and model weights are now available on GitHub and Hugging Face.
